A security systems technician is a field worker who installs and services CCTV, access control, and authorized alarm systems. Build your own business with direct company connections, onboarding support, clear rate cards, and practical business tools.
Signup does not guarantee assignments, income, or company approval. On-demand work is not automatic dispatch; company review and confirmation still apply.

Prepare for the scope
Company requirements, licensing, and safety rules depend on the task and location. Support with onboarding does not replace your qualifications or the company’s review.
List the camera, recorder, access control, and alarm platforms you have actually worked on. Licensing, permits, background checks, and manufacturer credentials vary by jurisdiction, system, and scope. Fire-alarm and other life-safety work require the appropriate qualifications and authorization; a general security profile is not proof of either.
A scope may call for a multimeter, cable tester, approved laptop and configuration tools, hand tools, ladders, and PPE. Confirm who supplies cameras, panels, locks, credentials, consumables, and specialized test equipment.
Confirm site authorization, required licenses or permits, monitoring coordination, access windows, and acceptance criteria. Review the rate card, travel, return visits, and payment terms. Keep alarm codes, credentials, and security layouts out of public profiles and personal notes; use the company's approved secure handoff.
Document authorized testing and unresolved issues, confirm system status with the responsible site contact, and transfer credentials only through the approved secure process. Do not leave a system disabled or represent incomplete testing as completed work.
